Procedure Fees
Should you require a procedure with us, the type of procedure and associated fees will be discussed with you before hand.
The total cost will vary depending on the procedure type and Medicare rebate available.
Our typical gap amount for a procedure is approximately $350 (a discount is applied for Pension and Health Care Card holders). This amount includes a procedure room fee which contributes to the cost of consumables used, dressings and nursing support. Unfortunately Medicare does not subsidies these costs.
As our Skin Cancer procedure room is now a licensed and accredited Day Procedure Unit, you may be able to use your Private Health Insurance (hospital cover).
If you/your item number are eligible, you will only be required to pay your hospital excess and the above fees will not apply for your skin cancer procedure. As part of our commitment to ‘challenge barriers that stifle access, affordability and health outcomes’, Launceston Health Hub Day Procedure Unit will cover up to $250 of your hospital excess.
