Dr. James Pankhurst

Kia Ora! Dr James Pankhurst graduated from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) in 2018. He spent six years gaining broad clinical experience at the Launceston General Hospital, including work as a surgical registrar, before transitioning to general practice, where he has spent the last two years serving the local community.
Dr Pankhurst is a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has completed his fellowship examinations. He is expecting to receive his Fellowship in January 2026.
He has a special interest in minor procedures and comprehensive skin checks, drawing on his surgical background to deliver thorough, patient-centred care. Dr Pankhurst is currently welcoming new patients.

“I enjoy skin cancer medicine as it is a fascinating field which allows me to put my previous surgical training to great use and serve the community. Outside of medicine I enjoy being outdoors, music and cars”.
Dr Lu is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is a member of the Skin Cancer College Australasia where he regularly undertakes professional development courses to further his knowledge and skills.
Dr Lu works at the Launceston Skin Cancer Clinic on Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr. Jo-Anne Grey
Dr. Jo-Anne Grey
Dr Jo-Anne Grey joined the Launceston Skin Cancer Clinic in August 2023.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and completed her Australian Diploma of Dermoscopy in 2009.
Jo-Anne has a special interest in general dermatology, including eczema and acne, as well as detection and management of skin cancer.

Dr. Denys Volkovets

Denys is an experienced General practitioner with a particular interest Dermatology and Skin Cancer and is currently working towards completing post-graduate qualification in primary care dermatology.
Denys has worked in Tasmania for a several years after relocating from Melbourne in 2017.
Denys’ approach to healthcare is holistic and focuses on patients’ complete physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing.
Denys will be working in the Skin Cancer Clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
